After getting the much needed recognition, an award at the
HEADIES on January 1, 2016, Afro-soul singer, Aramide is waxing stronger
in her music. The singer teamed up with YBNL’s Adekunle Gold for the
video of her latest single ‘Love Me’ released a couple of weeks ago. The
video is colourful and shows Aramide and Adekunle Gold play love
interests. It was directed by Stanz Visuals and comes out this week. The
song was produced by Tintin.
Aramide is an afro-soul and jazz artiste. Blessed with a good mastery
of the guitar, the lady signed to Baseline Music sings about love,
betrayal, friendship, trust, and the attendant joys and aches of
womanhood. Her singles include ‘I Don’t Care’, ‘Iwo Nikan’, ‘Feeling
This Feeling’, ‘It’s Over’ and ‘I Don’t Mind’, an up-tempo piano-laced
jazz rendition which tells off the haters of her relationship. Her
musical influences include Erykah Badu, Miriam Makeba, Sade, Angelique
Kidjo and other greats.
She discovered the talents of singing and writing as a teenager and
decided to nurture them. Aramide participated in the Star Quest talent
hunt show, making her part of a band that finished third runners up. Her
ever growing solo career took off shortly after graduation.
Her approach to song-writing and her soft but deep and powerful voice are some of the things that stand her out.
